TKP CUP
Talisay improves record to 5-0
BY CEDELF TUPAS

The Talisay Basketball Athletic Club sustained its fiery form Saturday night when it overwhelmed AMG Pawnshop-Summit, 106-83, to stay undefeated in the 6th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Cup at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

It was Talisay's fifth win in as many outings, while AMG dropped to 3-3. Nonoy Hugnatan sparked the Talisay victory, scoring 15 of his 19 points in the final period.

Almost overshadowed by TBAC's impressive win was the 95-84 triumph of BBC over Probac, which gave the West Negros College-based team its fourth victory in five games and puts it in a good position in the race for the Top 2 slots in Bracket B.

Joebert Pastias, Robert Buņol and Robert Duran carried the cudgels for BBC, combining for 33 points. Probac, which was coming off an emphatic win over erstwhile unbeaten Magnolia, absorbed its second loss in six games.

Meanwhile, Davies-Republic Hardware leaned on Manny Merelos to hack out an 86-78 triumph over LXG Friday night, its first victory after five losses.

In the other game, Mambukal Summer Resort crushed Panasonic-Po's Marketing, 81-65. The victory pushed Mambukal to solo second in Bracket A behind TBAC. *CPT
