Teachers warned
not to report late
BY ROMY AMARADO

Negros Oriental Schools Division Superintendent Aleli Abne has expressed confidence that the problem of punctuality and absence of teachers in the hinterlands has become a thing of the past.

Abne was responding to media observations that some teachers assigned in the hinterlands do not report to their assignments on time or for five days a week.

She said she no longer hears that complaint because the teachers have become aware that they will be facing administrative sanctions if they do that. Abne added that her office has asked barangay officials to monitor the punctuality of teachers assigned in their areas, and report to her office if such cases still happen in their place, for her to immediately take action.

The issue was raised by the media because of the educational programs launched lately in the province designed to enhance the learning capability of public elementary pupils and high schools students, for which teachers are expected to play the most important factor.*RA
