Edsa 1 unfinished
business: prelates

BY CARLA GOMEZ

Negros Occidental bishops yesterday called the bloodless EDSA 1 People Power revolution unfinished business that must be rekindled.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo is set to lead the wreath-laying rites at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio Taguig City tomorrow signaling the start of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of EDSA 1.

Dumaguete Bishop John Du said EDSA 1 is unfinished business. "There are still a lot of things to be done to attain the government we dreamed of 20 years ago," he said.

"We dreamed then and fought for a government that would truly work for the people, but human as we are, there is still a lot that must be done to fulfill that dream," he said.

"EDSA is a beautiful memory," Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra said.

"But being a church of hope, we hope that the memory of EDSA where we showed our genuine love of country, our patriotism and love of people will be rekindled in every Filipino," he said.*CPG
