La Carlota spikers win

Pulupandan and La Carlota City registered twin victories each Saturday at the start of the 16th Annual Negros Occidental Volleyball Association-NOCSF Age-Group Volleyball Championships at the University of St. La Salle Covered Courts in Bacolod City.

Pulupandan defeated La Consolacion Academy-Murcia, 25-18, 25-22, in the 12-Under boys' division, before its 16-Under boys' squad pounded Maranatha Christian College, 25-7, 25-7, in Bracket B.

The 12-Under girls' team of La Carlota City posted a 25-19, 25-23 triumph over St. Rose of Lima School as its volleybelles in Bracket B of the 16-Under girls' smashed MCC, 25-15, 25-15.

Host USLS also registered two victories to begin its campaign in a bright note in the 55-team, 8-division tournament.

The La Sallians came-from-behind to win against University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Talisay, 16-25, 25-16, 25-14, while USLS' 16-Under girls' team hammered Silay City-based St. Theresita's Academy, 25-23, 25-18, in Bracket A.

In the 14-Under girls' division, St. John's Institute demolished Mansilingan Christian Academy, 25-11, 25-16, while St. Joseph's School-La Salle rallied past the SJI-Selection, 23-25, 25-10, 25-13.*CIT
