City creates Task Force St. Bernard

Bacolod City police director, Senior Supt. Pedro Merced, will give awards and certificates to five Bacolod police personnel, individuals and organizations at the BCPO headquarters at about 8:30 a.m. today, in line with the celebration of the 15th Philippine National Police anniversary.

PNP Regional director Doroteo Reyes and Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia will be the guest speakers at the recognition and awarding ceremony.

Chief Insp. Jimmy Fortaleza will receive a plaque of recognition for making Police Precinct 1 the best police precinct in 2005, Senior Insp. Ulysses Ortiz, Police Precinct 4 commander - Best Police Commission Officer; SPO4 Ernesto Gonzales, chief of the City Anti-Drug Special Operation Task Group - Best Police Non-Commission Officer; Te Gary Villacis - Best Traffic Enforcer; Nelia Ruiz - Best Civilian Employee.

Senior Supt. Wesley Barayuga, chief of the Regional Operations and Directorate, PRO 6 and Supt. Rene Aspera, group director of the 6th Regional Mobile Group will also receive plaques of recognition for augmenting the Bacolod police office in last year's Southeast Asian Games.

In the individual category, the BCPO awardees are retired Chief Supt. Vicente Ponteras, former Bacolod police director; Bacolod Councilor Al Victor Espino, chairman of the Committee on Police Matters and Finance; Cresencio Palo Sr., Executive Assistance III; Andre Victor Las Pinas, Brgy. Captain of Brgy. Villamonte; Bro. Gus Boquer, President of the USLS; Samuel Musang; Francis Torres and Teresita Cokin.

In the group category, the awardees are the Soroptimist International Bacolod; Judge Napoleon Diamante, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court Branch 3; Prosecutor Arlene Catherine Dato, engineer Jimmy Banquero; the BCPO Press Corps; Bacolod Integrated Lions Club; Benjamin Lopue Jr. of the Lopue's Mandalagan; Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade and Community Council of Elders.*DMG
