RTC orders arrest
of NegOr treasurer
BY ROMY AMARADO

A Regional Trial Court in Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros, has ordered the arrest of a provincial government employee for alleged malversation of public funds.

Judge Candelario Gonzales of RTC Branch 44 has issued an arrest warrant for Mary Grace Corsame, disbursing officer of the Provincial Treasurer's Office, for her alleged failure to account for more than P2 million. In the warrant of arrest he issued last month, Gonzales recommended no bail for the provisional liberty of the suspect.

The Dumagute police, however, failed to serve the warrant, prompting Gonzales to order it to explain why.

But Provincial Treasurer Danilo Mendez said Corsame had stopped reporting to the office since December 27.

In fact, he added he is now preparing a recommendation to the office of Gov. George Arnaiz to declare Corsame Absent Without Leave.*RA
