Drug suspect evades arrest
BY DONALYN GUERRERO

Bacolod policemen seized several sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia from the residence of a drug suspect who evaded arrest in Sitio Sibucao, Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City, Thursday afternoon.

The City Anti-Drugs Special Operation Task Group led by SPO4 Ernesto Gonzales was not able to arrest Ramy Poja who reportedly managed to escape allegedly armed with a .45 caliber pistol, police reports said.

Poja's aunt reportedly blocked the Bacolod drug operatives and advised Poja to escape when the police arrived in their house. When chased, Poja reportedly fired at his pursuers, but, fortunately nobody was hurt, police reports said.

Armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Napoleon Diamante of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities, Branch 3, the CAIDSOTG swooped down on the residence of Poja. Aside from a deformed slug of a .45 caliber pistol, the Bacolod police recovered a big sachet of suspected shabu, an improvised tooter with visible traces of suspected shabu, two disposable lighters, a needle allegedly used in cracking shabu and several empty sachets used for repacking shabu, police reports said.

The raid was witnessed by Barangay Captain Eduardo Torecampo, barangay secretary Julian Luna and purok chairman Jerry Villar, police reports also said.*DMG
