Mayor leads
bloodletting campaign
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Mayor Rodolfo Gonzalez of Valencia, Oriental Negros, led the Valentine's Day bloodletting project jointly initiated by the town and the Philippine National Red Cross in the province, Tuesday.

Gonzalez said he donated blood as a gift for his wife on the day of hearts, instead of sending her flowers. He said another bloodletting activity is scheduled on his birthday in August.

The mayor leads the bloodletting activity conducted in his town twice a year. Gonzales said many still do not understand the benefits derived from donating blood, both for the donor and the recipient.

He called on Negrenses to also donate blood.

Camila Diaz, a PNRC medical technologist, said Valencia leads other local government units in Oriental Negros in bloodletting activities, and is followed by the Provincial Police command.*JG
