2 brothers knife, hack
each other, hospitalized
BY RENE GENOVE

Two brothers from Pamplona town who attacked each other with a knife and a pistol Monday night in Brgy. Inawasan, were rushed to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City with bullet and knife wounds.

Brought to the NOPH, that is more than 30 miles from Pamplona, were Venerando Lisnea, 36, single, and Epifanio Lisnea, 53, married, brothers and neighbors, in Inawasan, Pamplona.

Venerando said yesterday that he and Epifanio had a drink in the house of a friend and were going home with his elder brother riding a horse while he was walking when they had an argument.

He said the argument flared into a violent fight and his brother stabbed him with a knife but he managed to escape and shout for help.

Epifanio confirmed their having a drink in the house of their other brother in Brgy. Balayong, and later in a friend's house.

He said they argued over the younger brother's insistence that he (Epifanio) might not help him if he gets in trouble with a certain Celso Ibero.

Venerando allegedly shot Epifanio with his .357 caliber pistol, the bullet grazing the latter's forehead and chest.

Epifanio said he tried to wrestle the gun away from Venerando but it went off, hitting him on the chest.

Neighbors who saw the incident intervened and rushed the two brothers to the NOPH.*RG
