Rice supply readied
for calamity in NegOr
BY ROMY AMARADO

About P1.8 million has been appropriated by the Oriental Negros government for the purchase of rice in preparation for any man made or natural calamity this year.

The amount will be deposited with the National Food Authority which will be responsible for ensuring the supply of rice, in case the need arises.

The amount is equivalent to 2,000 bags of NFA rice.

Reports said that every year, a similar amount will be set aside, and that, the provincial government came up with the idea, noting that every time there is a calamity, affected families usually seek help from the province.

Meanwhile, early this week, three families in Bayawan who were victims of fire, were given financial assistance by the provincial government.

Victims Amado Galon, Emilio Octaviano and Marlena Tragico of Suba, Bayawan, received P3,000 each as financial assistance. Their houses were gutted down in November.*RA
