SIFI holds
medical-dental mission in Silay

About 257 sugar worker beneficiaries and their dependents from haciendas in Brgy. E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental, were recipients of the medical-dental mission conducted by the Sugar Industry Foundation Inc., recently, a SIFI press release said yesterday.

The medical mission team was composed of Drs. Lilyn Mae Oriel, Rochelle Calleja, Marites Garriel, Jose Tabang and Romney Sentinar, and dentist Mario Oliveros, while SIFI was led by Edith Villanueva.

Assisting in the mission were the Rotary Club of Silay led by Arvin Precioso, the local government of Silay, Brgy. E. Lopez health workers headed by midwife Manny Malunes, and teachers of Emiliano Lizares Primary School led by Alma Lingaya, it also said.

Of the recipients, 198 patients availed of free medical consultation and free medicines while 59 availed of free dental extractions and free medicines.

The medical mission team also noted the prevalent sicknesses in the area, and dewormed majority of the children in the place, it added.* Caption: The SIFI medical-dental mission team.*
