3 pickpockets
BY RENE GENOVE

Bystanders responding to a call for help by a bus passenger, chased and apprehended three pickpockets who had stolen the wallet of the victim who was getting off the vehicle, Saturday night, in Brgy. Buñao, Dumaguete City.

Police identified the victim as Danna Faustorilla, 31, married, of Brgy. Camanjac, and the suspects as Javier Banabana, 39, married, of Brgy. Tubtubon, Sibulan; Zaldy Albarado, 43, married, of Brgy. Magatas also in Sibulan; and a certain "Niño,"of Colon Extension, Dumaguete.

The victim said Banabana blocked the door when she was disembarking from the bus that had stopped at the national highway in Buñao.

She did not notice that Albaro who was behind her, had opened her bag, got her wallet, and passed it to "Niño".

A passenger who saw what was happening immediately informed Faustorilla, shouted for help.

The three suspects bolted and ran, but people in the area chased and caught them, and later turned them over to the police.

Faustorilla got back her wallet containing P4,000 in cash and her ATM and identification cards.*RG
