2 men nabbed for heist
BY DONALYN M. GUERRERO

Two persons were arrested by Police Precinct 2 personnel in a hot-pursuit operation for allegedly holding up two Bacolod residents in Purok Kamunsil, Brgy. 3, in Bacolod City at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

Arrested were Jovanie Pacheco Pelaro, 31, married and Davis Blocora Dingson, 26, single, both of Purok Langis, Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City who were positively identified by the complainants as responsible for the hold-up, police reports said.

Complainant Emmanuel Perez told the police he and Kristine Duren were walking in the area when Pelaro approached them and poked a 12-inch bladed weapon at Duren who was holding her cellphone, police reports said.

Pelaro grabbed Duren's Nokia 6610 cellphone and boarded a red motorcycle reportedly driven by Dingson to flee, the reports also said.

In an interview, Dingson and Pelaro denied the allegation against them, saying the complainants had only mistaken them. They claimed that they were on their way to the house of their friend when they were chased by a patrol car and arrested for robbery-hold-up.

Insp. Levy Pangue, Police Precinct 2 commander, said Pelaro and Dingson were subjected to drug tests at the Crime Laboratory yesterday, and their fingerprints and pictures were taken.

Meanwhile, Bacolod City police director, Senior Supt. Pedro Merced, yesterday said he has directed Pangue to validate the possible connections of Pelaro and Dingson to other robbery-hold-up incidents in the city.

Meanwhile, Sunny Boy Asle, 18, and two minors, aged 13 and 15, were arrested by Police Precinct 9 personnel for allegedly stealing 52 empty beer bottles from the Hok Hwa Marketing in Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod at about 7:40 a.m. Sunday, police reports said. The three are now detained in the lock-up cell of Precinct 9 for robbery charges, while four of their alleged companions had escaped and are still at-large, police reports said.*DMG

LBC HEIST
Employee should be
placed under investigation: Merced
BY DONALYN M. GUERRERO

Bacolod City police director. Senior Supt. Pedro Merced. yesterday directed Chief Insp. Jimmy Fortaleza, Police Precinct 1 commander, to intensify the investigation into the hold-up incident at the LBC Express Inc. office at Lacson Street in Bacolod City Saturday afternoon.

Merced said Charlotte dela Cruz Abancio, 28, single, of Victorias City and an LBC Inc. employee, who reported to Police Precinct 1, should be put under intensive interrogation so the suspect can be identified.

Merced said three police mobile patrols had responded to the area, when the incident was reported but the information Abancio provided them and her description of the suspect were incomplete about the incident.

Abancio sought police assistance an hour after an unidentified person posing as customer allegedly approached her, poked a .38 caliber revolver at her, and declared a hold-up, Merced said.

The culprit took her collection of P10,000 and two cellphones, police reports said.

Merced said he will allow the sketching of the hold-upper's face if it could help in the investigation.*DMG
