One-stop-shop for travel
to be featured in Bacolod

A one-stop-shop for travelers will be featured in the four-day 1st TravelXchange on March 2 to 5 at the Robinsons Place Bacolod.

In a press briefing held yesterday, event organizer Charles Lim said that the travel show will bring to Bacolod suppliers of travel products who will provide Bacoleņos information on both domestic and foreign tour packages and bargains.

It will have everything that you need to need travel, Lim said, adding that the event aims to encourage people to do so.

He said that the idea for the show came after he observed that there was a great interest from people in Bacolod in the countries, particularly Cambodia and Malaysia, that had participated in the 25th Southeast East Asian Games that the city hosted late last year.

He said this encouraged him to create an event for people wanting to visit these countries and also other destinations in the Philippines.

On the other hand, we will also invite travel operators in Bacolod to join us in Cebu or Manila to promote the city, he said.

Lim added that the TravelXchange 2006, which is being supported by the Province of Negros Occidental through the Provincial Tourism Office and the Department of Tourism, will feature an on-line reservation system for travelers.

Exhibitors, which include travel agencies, hotels and resorts, cruise operators and an airline and a vessel company, will be featured in the event that will incorporate a two-day seminar on product updates for travel agents, corporate incentive houses, civic organizations and government agencies from Bacolod and Iloilo.*NLG
