5 injured in stabbing,
vehicular accidents

Five persons were injured in stabbing and vehicular accidents in different areas in Bacolod City over the weekend, hospital reports said.

Rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital was Joey Villando, 27, single, of Progreso, Brgy. Sum-ag, Bacolod City. He had a stab wound in his back allegedly inflicted by a certain "Boniol" at Purok Fatima, Brgy. Sum-ag at about 12:35 a.m. Saturday, hospital reports said.

At about 9:15 a.m. yesterday, trisikad driver Alvin Arana Alvares, 21, single, of Purok Ramon Magsaysay, Brgy. 14 was rushed to the CLMMRH with a stab wound in his back allegedly inflicted with a barbecue stick by a 16-year-old boy at Purok Bagong Dalan, Brgy. 14, police reports said.

Samuel Jimenez, 25, single, of UNO-R Housing in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City was also brought to the CLMMRH with a stab wound in his back, allegedly caused by a suspected member of the "rugby boys" at the Alexa Beerhouse at San Sebastian Street in the city at about 10 p.m. Friday, hospital reports said.

Meanwhile, Remy Jonota, 28, single, of St. Vincent, Brgy. Alijis was injured when a private vehicle driven by Arnold Hinobiagon hit him at Araneta Street in Brgy. Singcang at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Meanwhile, at about 10:50 p.m. of the same day, Fredo Amihan, 33, of Cubay, Brgy. Villamonte sustained injuries when he was bumped by a pick-up driven by an unidentified person in front of the Burgos Public Market in Bacolod City.*DMG

2 Bacoleņos
nabbed for loose guns

Two persons were apprehended for alleged possession of illegal firearms and ammunition in a checkpoint operation in front of China Bank at Araneta Street in Bacolod City Saturday.

Insp. Sergio Pormento, Precinct 1 deputy chief, and his men arrested Leopoldo Beldia Dorado, 26, single, of Airport Subdivision, Brgy. Singcang-Airport, Bacolod City, for having an improvised firearm, locally known as "sumpak" at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The police impounded Dorado's 125 cc red motorcycle when he failed to present his driver's license, Pormento said.

About 20 minutes later, the Bacolod police intercepted Ramon Estita Endonilla, 48, married, of Brgy. Cabug for alleged possession of .45 caliber pistol with five live ammunition and its holster, police reports said.

Endonilla was also charged with driving his Honda XRM motorcycle without a driver's license, police reports said.

Dorado and Endonilla are now detained in the lock-up cell of Police Precinct 1 for violation of Presidential Decree 1866 as amended by Republic Act 8294, or illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, Pormento added.*DMG
