The Board of Nursing resolution granting the release of only the
board examination results of West Negros College graduates with
loads not exceeding 30 units and Related Learning Experience hours,
as prescribed in Commission on Higher Education Memo No. 30, Series
of 2001, may mean that only 127 examinees will get relief.
The Board of Nursing has not yet given a specific date when
the examination results of those with 30 units and below will be
released.
Nelia Gonzales, leader of the WNC students in Iloilo demanding
the release of the December 2005 Nurse Licensure Examination results,
said there are 599, not only 460, WNC graduates who took the examination.
Of the 599, only about 127 had 30 units and below, about 300
took 31 to 35 units a semester, and the rest had 36 units and above,
Gonzales said.
Most of those with 36 units and above were doctors, medical
technicians, physical therapists and pharmacists who had to re-enroll
in subjects they had already taken before, she said.
Resolution No. 4 said the release of results of WNC examinees
with loads exceeding 30 units will be withheld, and their transcripts
of records and papers will be submitted to CHED for evaluation.
The recommendation of the CHED, based on its evaluation, will
then be the basis for the Nursing Board and PRC to either release
the examinees' board examination results, or cause the "cancellation
of their licensure examination and/or disbarment from future examinations,"
the resolution said.
WNC Nursing Dean Zenaida Hilado yesterday said they will just
wait for the findings of CHED.
Meanwhile, PRC regional director Lily Ann Baldago yesterday denied
reports from Iloilo that she is resigning. "I am sorry to disappoint
them," she said.*CPG
