Birthday surprise
The siblings of Teresita "Manay" Manaloto surprised her with a
birthday bash recently. Invitations were sent out with a note not
to tell the celebrator.
All the prepared surprise numbers were practiced at the residence
of Lina L. while the priests', at the Lupit Seminary. The celebrator
was not informed even of the arrival of her brothers from Manila
and nieces and nephews from abroad.
She heard an early morning Mass and she received calls from friends
and relatives to greet her. Lina then asked Manay to accompany her
to the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Brgy. Calumangan, Bago City, then
off they went to the Sugarland Hotel where the bold letters and
glitter of Happy Birthday Manay has been set in place.
Guests were dressed to the nines as they greeted the celebrator
who was in her working dress. Manay was mesmerized to see her brothers
and relatives who arrived just to attend her big day.
A program followed the dinner. The Samba dance medley was performed
by the entire Manaloto clan including the in-laws, followed by the
"Masculados" song and dance number by the energetic and vigorous
priests: Frs. Naring, Bonsoy, Mitch G., Gigi, Arnold, and Abner.
Friends of the Manalotos danced "Pinoy Ako," while the younger
members of the family rendered a modern song and dance number.
Msgr. Gigi Gaston belted out two Spanish songs bringing the audience
to a roaring laughter. The emcee of the program was Larry Reyes,
son of Eding Reyes from San Francisco.
Manay is the mother, elder sister, and confidante to us sisters
and brothers. She is a workaholic, religious and supporter of the
seminary. A desk calendar was the give-away for the celebration.
To Manay, we wish you good health and good luck. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!*
Remember: "God will always reveal his will to the one who is willing
to do it."
