A farmer believed to be under the influence of intoxicating liquor
went on a stabbing spree Monday, killing a neighbor and his son,
and also injured two others, including a minor, in Sitio Linagasan,
Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.
Suspect Roger Paragan, armed with a bladed weapon, allegedly stabbed
dead Rodolfo Ilagan, 50, and his son, John Rey, 15, police investigations
show.
Two other sons of Ilagan, Jeffrey, 18; and Jomay, 12, who were
hit in right thigh and left hand, as well as in the left side of
his chest, respectively, however, survived in the stabbing spree,
Kabankalan acting police chief Louie Figueroa, said in his report
to Senior Supt. Charles Calima.
Ilagan sustained a stab wound on his left side, while his son,
John Rey, was hit in the chest. Both were declared dead on arrival
at the Kabankalan District Hospital, the police said.
Police Officer 2 Leo Longno, Kabankalan PNP desk officer, yesterday
said Paragan was still at-large as of yesterday.
The incident was reported to have been triggered by grudges of
Paragan against the Ilagan family.
Meanwhile, the free-for-all fight between two rival gangs at a
benefit dance in Hacienda Tonggoy, Brgy. Sampinit, Bago City, on
Feb. 5, claimed the life of Julius Carlos, 19, the police said.
Bago police chief Alex Belonio identified the two injured victims
as Nelwin Sales, 17, and Renato Dequilla, 19, both hacienda residents.
Carlos was declared dead on arrival at the Bago District Hospital,
where Sales and Dequilla were treated for stab wounds.
The free-for-all is still being investigated by the Bago police.*GPB
