TBAC stays unbeaten;
Panasonic-Po's, TBA prevail

Talisay Basketball and Athletic Club overwhelmed Mambukal, 87-77, for its third win Monday night, while New ST Marketing beat LXG, 79-62, in the Tan Kek Pin Cup Memorial Basketball Tournament at the Po Hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.

It was TBAC's third win in as many games, while Mambukal absorbed its first loss in three games. New ST boosted its record to 2-1 as LXG suffered its second loss in three outings.

In the Sunday schedule, Panasonic-Po's Mktg. tripped Buddy's, 83-76, even as Tangub repulsed YBAC, 112-105. The win pushed Po's to two wins against a loss, while Buddy's dropped to 2-2.

Tangub improved to 2-1, while denying YBAC its first victory in the tournament.

Magnolia Nutri-oil, meanwhile, recorded its fourth victory, following a 104-79 crushing of Davies Republic Hardware.

Edgar Junto paced TBAC's win with 15 points with TonTon Belecina and Hans Gamboa adding 14 and 8, respectively. Joseph Arenas scored 21 for Mambukal.

ST Marketing opened the second quarter with a 16-0 run to break away from a close game. Peewee Demonteverde and Mark Binguan stood at the forefront of the scoring with 11 points apiece.

Jeff Wee picked up 15 points to lead Po's victory. He was supported by Jun Terol and Bobby Cepeda with 14 points apiece.

Buddy's Tommy Andren led his team's losing cause with 12 points, while Francis Andren chipped in 10.

With TBA leading 83-62 at the end of the third quarter, Roger Jaype, Ace Liza and Ariston Sillana tried to pull YBAC back into the game but fell short.

Elmer Santander led the TBA win with 20 points, while Lyn Doble added 13. *CPT
