Victorias cop facing carnapping
charges may be declared AWOL,
police chief says

A policeman assigned at the Victorias City Police Station with a pending arrest warrant for carnapping, faces sanctions for being AWOL (absent-without-leave) if he fails to report for duty this week, police chief Modesto Sanson said yesterday.

PO1 Sandrex Pasco, a member of the Victorias City Police Station, and PO1 Jose Daliarte of the Salvador Benedicto Police Station, are facing carnapping charges, the police said.
Silay Regional Trial Court Judge Reynaldo Alon who issued the arrest warrant for Pasco and Daliarte, has recommended bail of P180,000 for each policeman.

If Pasco fails to report for duty, he may also be dropped from the roster of the police organization, Sanson said.

Police investigations show that Daliarte and Pasco allegedly sold the cannibalized cargo truck of Eduardo Boyson in Sitio Cabay, Barangay Guinhalaran Silay City, Negros Occidental two years ago, to a junk shop after executing a deed of sale without concurrence of the owner.

Last year, Daliarte was also in hot water for pawning his issued M-16 assault rifle, which is a government property, the police said.*GPB
