'New techniques expected
to boost poultry industry'

Acting Gov. Isidro Zayco who led a Negros Occidental delegation that joined the recent International Poultry Expo in Atlanta, Georgia, said yesterday that they learned new techniques in the production and processing of poultry and eggs.

These techniques will be shared with local poultry producers to boost local production, he said.

We went there because it is common knowledge that we have to improve the poultry industry of Negros Occidental, he said.

Also discussed at the expo were steps to be taken to prevent bird flu, the bottom line of which is the need to ensure that proper hygiene in the poultry industry is observed, he said.

Zayco was accompanied to the expo by Board Members Miller Serondo, Edgardo Acuña and Francis Gerard Tuvilla and Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena. The show was the world's largest display of technology equipment, supplies and services in the production and processing of poultry and eggs, Zayco said.

There were about 834 exhibitors who joined the expo, he said.*CPG
