Another call center is planning to open in Bacolod City next month
and intends to create more than 300 jobs within the year, Bacolod
Councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue said.
The center, i-Solutions Outsource Asia, is now accepting applicants'
résumés at Techno 1 Internet, at Lopue's East Center, she said.
I/O Asia maintains a website with address www.ioasianic.com
and applicants can also send their résumés to hrd@ioasianic.com,
according to Fernando Gonzales, I/O Asia general manager, Batapa-Sigue,
chair of the Bacolod City Information Technology Focus Team, said.
I/O Asia is a joint venture between a Canadian-based call
center solutions company, GoldTech Computer Telephony incorporated
(GT-CTI) and local entrepreneurs.
Gonzales said GT-CTI is a division of the 24-year old systems
integrator, GoldTech Systems, the Canadian partner of this joint
venture based in Montreal, Quebec, which will provide I/O Asia state-of-the-art
contact center solutions, currently installed worldwide.
Frank Lai, GT-CTI vice president and general manager, during
his visit to Bacolod last week, said the call center of I/O Asia
will provide back-office customer support, sales and marketing services
to North America, Asian and Philippine market through an agent-assisted
and automated voice and data service technology.
GT-CTI Philippines president Hans Dee expressed high hopes
about the human resource pool of Bacolod and Negros Occidental and
stressed the importance of knowledge transfer between Negrenses
and Bacolodnons who have worked in call centers outside Bacolod
and those who are new in the industry.
Batapa-Sigue said the call center is looking for qualified applicants
who can speak fluent English, are computer and internet literate,
and are highly trainable and motivated.*CGS
