Cops set free chained boy

A teenager who was chained for squealing on his co-worker was rescued from his captors by police operatives in Barangay Singcang, Bacolod City, last night.

Rescued was Marcelo Bariga, 16, of Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan, from the house of a couple identified as Jovelyn and Christopher Alba in Barangay Singcang, DYEZ Aksyon radio reported last night.

The boy was allegedly chained Thursday by Christopher Alba for allegedly reporting to his employer that Christian Alba, his brother, was selling the fuel of the truck he was driving, DYEZ reported.

The police is preparing to file charges against the couple for child abuse.

Bariga was reportedly chained Thursday morning and when Purok President Rodolfo Garcia was informed about it he sought police action, DYEZ reported.

The teener was allegedly threatened that he would be killed.*
