The head of the Talisay City General Services Office and a companion
were apprehended by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives
last night for alleged possession of shabu.
Nabbed was Talisay GSO head Archibald Tuvilla and his companion
Sanel Arcenas, Inspector Joemarie Occeño, Negros PDEA chief, said.
Occeño said they were nabbed on board a green Nissan SGX vehicle
along the highway in front of Nature's Village in Talisay City.
Recovered from them were four elongated sachets of suspected
shabu estimated to cost P500 each, Occeño said.
Occeño said they had received reports that Tuvilla's vehicle
was frequently seen at Barangay 2 in Bacolod City where drugs are
purchased.
They applied for a search warrant for the vehicle and it was
granted by Executive Judge Roberto Chiongson of the Regional Trial
Court of Bacolod, he said.
We planted a plainclothesman in Barangay 2 and at past 9 last
night the green Nissan was spotted in Barangay 2 again, Occeño said.
He said they followed the vehicle and stopped it along the
highway.
He said Arcenas told him the shabu belonged to Tuvilla.
A drug test will be conducted today to determine if they were
under the influence of drugs, he said.
Occeño said charges will be filed against the two for illegal
possession of drugs.
Tuvilla could not be reached for comment last night.
Occeño said they were turning him over to the Talisay PNP for
safekeeping.
Talisay Mayor Eric Saratan last night had no comment on the
arrest of Tuvilla as he said he had not received an official report
on the matter.
In November last year, Occeño had also apprehended Talisay treasurer
Levi Doronila for the alleged use of prohibited drugs at the Talisay
City Hall.*CPG
