Three more unlicensed
guns surrendered

Three more unlicensed guns were surrendered to the Valladolid Police Station, town police chief Rico Santotome said.

Santotome said Remy Jocson and Gilbert Suarez surrendered homemade .38 and .22 caliber revolvers to SPO1 Joemarie Magno and Gilbert Juareza on Feb. 1.

Another homemade shotgun with two live ammunition was also endorsed to the Valladolid police by a fish hauler, he added

This brought to 26 the number of loose firearms, and a fragmentation grenade, accounted for by the Valladolid police since last month, police records show. Last week, eight more unlicensed guns were also recovered by the police in Salvador Benedicto, Murcia and Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, the police said.

Within three weeks, the Negros Occidental police accounted for 34 unlicensed guns and a fragmentation grenade, under its Oplan Balik Baril campaign.

Meanwhile, the manhunt is still on for the remaining inmate who bolted the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Himamaylan City on Tuesday.

PO3 Virgilio Parcon, Himamaylan PNP desk officer, yesterday confirmed the recapture of inmate Elmo Gambalan on Wednesday in Brgy. 3 poblacion, Himamaylan City.

Gambalan, alias Weng-Weng, and Rene Alvarez, alias Boy-Boy, escaped from the Himamaylan BJMP on Tuesday night. Parcon said Alvarez was still at large as of yesterday.*GPB
