Bacolod alien control officer Mita Chuvy Arguelles yesterday said
she recommended Wednesday that the name of Pakistani Arshad Hussain,
a.k.a Arshad Syed Husein, alleged finance manager of the Medisense
Laboratory Clinic in Bacolod City, be included in the Bureau of
Immigration and Deportation-Manila watchlist.
Arguelles told the DAILY STAR yesterday that, Hussain, holder
of passport No. KF3721419, arrived in the country on Oct. 31, 2005
as a temporary visitor or tourist. As such, he is not allowed to
engage in gainful employment in the city without a permit from the
Department of Labor and Employment.
Aside from his inclusion in the watchlist, Arguelles also
said she has recommended the denial of his visa extension and the
issuance of a memorandum to all district offices on his status.
Hussain, the finance manager of the Medisense Laboratory Clinic
where boxes of "expired" HIV and pregnancy test kits were confiscated
Thursday last week, has violated sections 37 (e) and (g) of the
Philippine Immigration Act of 1940 as amended, Arguelles said.
Hussain and Ma. Luisa Monserate, owner of the Medisense Laboratory
Clinic at the AU and Sons Building at Burgos-Locsin streets in Bacolod
City were arrested by the Bacolod City Anti-Drug Operations Task
Group for violation of Article 40 (L) of Republic act 7394 or the
Consumer's Act of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Monserate reported to Police Precinct 4 that several
pieces of equipment and documents in her laboratory were missing
after a Department of Health inspector checked the area Wednesday.
She said the missing items were a Rotator worth P8,000, four Pitator
worth P12,000, VDRL re-agent worth P4,250, SGOT/SGPT re-agent, clinic
manual, operational and procedural manual, flow chart procedure,
complete glasswares, stock solution, among others.*DMG
