4 hold-up men nabbed
Four persons were apprehended by the Bacolod police
yesterday for their alleged involvement in robbery hold-up and cellphone
snatching incidents in the city.
Police Precinct 2 operatives led by their station
commander Insp. Levy Pangue, apprehended Ringgo Ragomeo, Bonnie
Valientes, in Brgy. Alijis after they reportedly held up a 30-year-old
man at the Bacolod reclamation area at about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Rogomeo and Valientes, both 22, and residents
of Purok Narra-Baybay, Brgy. 8, were identified by complainant Edson
Gaite de Jose as the one who had robbed him, Pangue said.
He added that Jimboy Custodio, a companion of
Rogomeo and Valientes escaped and is still at-large.
Recovered from Ragomeo and Valientes were Nokia
3310 and 3210 cellphones. They are now detained in the lock-up cell
of Police Precinct 2 for robbery with hold-up charges, police reports
said.
Ragomeo said he was forced to commit the crime
because he has no other means for paying the hospital bills of his
7-month-old baby who has been confined for loose bowel movement.
Meanwhile, alleged cellphone snatchers Richard
Tutop, 18 and Norberto Jeva, 21, both of Purok Seresa South, Brgy.
3 were arrested by Senior Insp. Ulysses Ortiz, Precinct 4 commander
and his men after they snatched the cellphones of a student near
the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod at about 1 p.m. yesterday.
Recovered from Tutop and Jeva were Nokia 7210,
3215 and 3310 cellphones identified by Kranshy Reyes, of Talisay
City as hers, Ortiz said.
Tutop and Jeva also endorsed two Nokia 3310, 6150
and 3210 cellphones to the police station, he added.
De Jose, meanwhile, said he was on his bicycle
on his way to the house of a friend near the Bacolod reclamation
area when Ragomeo and his companions blocked him and declared a
hold-up taking his bag, P1,000 and Nokia 3310 cellphone.
Meanwhile, Pangue and his men yesterday recovered
the Kawasaki KMX 125 motorcycle of Edgar Taglorin Abonales that
was stolen by an unidentified person in a parking area of the Riverside
Medical Center at B.S. Aquino drive in Bacolod City Monday.
The San Carlos PNP identified the person responsible
for taking the motorcycle as Wilmer Laroja, of San Carlos City who
was arrested for separate carnapping charges, Pangue said.
He said Abonales positively identified the recovered
motorcycle as his and he is preparing charges against Laroja.
On Monday, Abonales parked his motorcycle at B.S.
Aquino drive and was surprised to discover it gone. He suspected
that the two unidentified persons he noticed in the area were responsible
for taking his motorcycle, police reports said.*DMG
