2 Himamaylan
detainees flee

Two detainees reportedly escaped from the lock-up cell of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Himamaylan City at about 7 last night.

They were identified as "Boyboy" Alvarez and "Tisoy" Gambalan, alias "Weng-weng", of Himamaylan City. They are accused of separate murder charges, Super Radyo reported.

Jail officers-on-duty JO1 Baron and JO2 Bokya and Alert Team of the Himamaylan PNP conducted a manhunt operation to re-arrest Alvarez and Gambalan who reportedly jumped over the fence at the back portion of the BJMP to escape.

Insp. Nilo Magbanua, Himamaylan BJMP jail warden, could not be reached for comments up to press time last night.*DMG
