The Basketball Association of the Philippines local orientation and accreditation seminar for Sipalay City officials, coaches and referees will kick off on Saturday at the Sipalay Gym in Sipalay City.

Each barangay will be allowed to have only two representatives to the training, BAP regional commissioner Rolando "Jack" Marañon said yesterday.

The different basketball coaches and referees from Sipalay will also be required to attend the orientation and accreditation that is expected to draw more than 100 participants, Marañon, who will also conduct the seminar, said.

The training will be conducted to prepare the Sipalay officials, coaches and referees for the staging of their inter-barangay summer basketball tournament, he added.

The Sipalay City local government, headed by Mayor Oscar Montilla, will sponsor the orientation and accreditation that will end on Sunday in cooperation with the Sangguniang Kabataan Fedration.

The Sipalay government officials are also planning to hold a beach volleyball tournament in the last week of March to be one of the highlights of the city's fiesta. *CIT
