Active Solid Strikers - Bacolod displayed a sterling game to bag the top honors in the 4th DUBAI Dinagyang Open Trio Bowling Tournament, as Negros Professional Bowlers Club/Tough Trucks - Bacolod settled for a runner-up finish in the ICBA Mixed Open Trio Championship that ended Monday at the Elizabeth Bowling Center in Iloilo City.

Tough Trucks/NPBC and SR Bowlers were the highest team single and triple winners with 431, and 1,207 pinfalls, apiece.

Manuel Y. Po/NPBC LJP Trading, of Gil Villagante, also registered the highest single mark with 431, but the award was given to Jaime Chua's TT, as the one recorded the feat, first.

The Edgar del Rosario mentored Solid Strikers snubbed the rampaiging, Cainta Duckpin Bowlers Association - Jolo, the tournament's No.1, in the hotly-contested finals, 382-371 to grab this year's title.

In their first game assignment, they outplayed Novaliches Saturday Bowlers Club in the semifinal, 367-355.

The members of the winning squad were Pete Aplaon, who rolled 139 balls; Norman Pineda, 135, and Nene Borlado, 108.

Jaime Chua, Willy Mahilum and Susan Robles, of NPBC Tough Trucks/GCL - Bacolod placed second runner-up, after yielding to Iloilo City Bowlers Club in their semis bout.

Robles topscored for Bacolod Team with 164 pinfalls, while Mahilum, and Chua contributed 143 and 109.

The championship was won by D'Friendly Bowlers - Manila headed by Inez Magbual.

Ben Pison, of SR Navistar - Bacolod established the individual highest single mark with 189, and Boy Villanueva, of Solid Strikers took the highest pinning award with 98 balls.

Commissioner Pons Yuson, of the Philippine Duckpin Bowling Council distributed gift certificates and trophies to the top three winners.*HLG
