The mother of an 8-year-old patient diagnosed to
have hydrocephalus and presently confined at the Corazon Locsin
Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City is seeking
the help of DAILY STAR readers to help her defray the medical expenses
for the child.
Megima Ilustre, 28, mother of 8-year-old Erika,
of Purok Cubay, Brgy. Villamonte, in Bacolod said the girl was brought
to the hospital on Jan. 17, due to unresponsiveness resulting from
headaches and vomiting.
She said Erika's doctor told them that the girl
will need a VP shunt that they cannot afford, because she is unemployed
and the income of her husband, Eric, 31, a construction worker,
is not enough even to buy the medicines for the child.
The mother added that, aside from Erika, they have
three other children aged 7 and 4 years old, and a 5-month-old,
to also attend to. Any help for Erika may be coursed through the
DAILY STAR office.*
