The head of the Negros Occidental office of the Commission on Elections has been promoted to director 3 of the COMELEC Planning Office.

This means COMELEC provincial supervisor Daisy Real will be moved to the COMELEC main office.

To replace Real as COMELEC provincial supervisor is lawyer Jessie Suarez, election officer of Cadiz City.

Real said her promotion takes effect January 1 but she will assume her new post on January 14 if allowed by the COMELEC personnel department.

I will miss the challenge of work in the field but this new job is a promotion, she said.

Real said she is winding up her work at the Negros Occidental COMELEC and will file charges against Hinobaan Mayor Mary Jane Cubid before she leaves for Manila.

The COMELEC en banc has approved the filing of charges against Cubid as recommended by COMELEC Commissioner Resurreccion Borra.

The charges will be filed against Cubid for her unnecessary order for the transfer of the Hinobaan COMELEC office and hampering of the operations of the poll body, Real said earlier.

We are filing charges against Cubid for abuse of authority, for conduct unbecoming a public official, and for harassment before the Ombudsman, and for violation of COMELEC provisions before the poll body this month, Real said.
