Flood hits Victorias

Flood waters hit five barangays in Victorias City when a big tree blocked the flow of water near a bridge yesterday morning, the Provincial Disaster Management Team reported.

Areas affected were barangays 16, 16a, 17, 18 and 19A that covers Canetown Subdivision, Dave Cuajao of the PDMT said.

Cuajao said a doldol (kapok) tree 36 inches in diameter and 60 feet long with big branches blocked the flow of water near the bridge that connects Barangays 16 and 16A.

Eric Villaluna of the PDMT and Roy Hautea and Eva Rodriguez of Victorias Milling Co. facilitated the removal of the tree with a crane that caused the flood waters that rose at 5:30 a.m. to subside at 9 a.m., Cuajao said.*CPG
