Priests, seminarians in concert
The Sacred Heart Seminary Productions launched the concert "Handog:
SHS Fulfilling Dreams at 60" on December 15 and 16. It was part
of 60th anniversary of SHS and a thanksgiving offering to all its
benefactors and friends.
The concert was also staged for the renovation of the Pope John
Paul II Cultural Center.
Rev. Fr. Gerardo Alminaza, Seminary Rector emphasized in his welcome
message the significant events during the war, which is the main
concept of the Handog. The concert, with the Silay Rondalla Ensemble,
gave a unique melody to the Voisems, the seminary's Choral Group.
The group and their dancers gave a rendition of Yoyoy Villami's
"Butsekik". The Sacred Heart Youth Organization brought back the
old dance tune with a modern touch.
The Aletheia, the newly-formed seminary band, was launched at
the concert as they accompanied the Voisems in an APO Hiking Society
medley, starting with Doo-bi-doo, Batang Bata Ka Pa, Awit ng Barkada,
and Blue Jeans.
The seminary fathers - Rev. Gerardo Alminaza, Ronald Quijano,
Jesmar Manato, Salvador Barcelona, Abner Gingos, Jude Serfino, also
had the special participation of Rev. Jerebel Celestial, in their
song number.
Tania Lopez, over-all director, supervised the show, from the
set to sounds and lights, conceptualization, stage management, wardrobe
and stage production.
The Sacred Heart Seminary also expressed its heartfelt thank to
all friends, supporters and benefactors for the success of "Handog
2006".
REMEMBER:
"The hardest territory to hand over to God is the heartland of
your dreams."*
