Me Revoila Paree!
I have been with Victor Magsaysay who's in a main emotional crossroad
in life. Keep on telling him to focus on his vision. So, what's
new besides that? The sky was blue today and ate a fabi moules a
la creme chez. Victor was with an American old timer named Robert.
Got something in common with Herve who was also present, since Robert
is 83 years old and starting to lose his eyesight. Been in Paris
since the late 30's and sang and danced at the opera in Germany
in his youth. Yes, another olde queen! But, fun. Terribly worldly
and cultured, knows his wine cuz Herve brought a bottle of vin jaune
-- the last in his cave. And what a treat it was! The olde dear
was in tears as he savored the amber washed wine.
Otherwise, leading a very domesticated life in Rue des Archives,
doing lots of reading and lying around just like in Nenuca's pool
in Rocquebrune. Which cost a lot of money moving around Monte Carlo
and Cap Martin... excursions to Portofino made me fall in love with
the Ligurean Riviera! And so, one must make un peu des economies
with the way people spend in Monte Carlo! Louie Ysmael ordered a
homard at Roc Cap Martin when Herve made blow-out and his 400-gram
lobster that looked more like a shrimp. Ended up costing half of
the bill--and he eating most of our entrees. Ha! So I still wear
my Parisian blues and settled for a Dior--last of the Galliano look,
I guess in strass and can't wait to wear that with my Roberto Cavalli
cowboy shirt in beige and painted feathers with matching patchwork
buttons decor.
The Parisian stress doesn't affect me anymore and I go on with
my life like an old buffalo wallowing in the greyness of the city.
Paris plague is no more. Finished last Sunday with a ho-hum summer
that lasted for 15 jours de canicule: It's strictly scarf days now
but of course, vain tropezzienes force their summer into fall and
much more as long as the tan lasts. You must see the latest film
of Charlotte Gainsbourg with that Mexican actor of "y tu mama tambien--Gael
Garcia Bernal." The title is "Science des Reves" which translates
to Science of Dreams...wow! My new Alain Delon is he!!! and what
a film--so today, so French, so Paree. Wish it would be on everyone's
list on must-see's. It's absolutely refreshing when one goes out
of a movie and feel this good! And pure. Charlotte is soooo miiillllaaaaaaa,
which is why I'm sending her a copy of this narrative ekkk. Makes
one's life so much easier keeping in touch with the world when trains
of consciousness pass by in our lives and try to touch other lives,
in a flash...
Miss y'all much!*
