leaders okay The FIBA Central Board yesterday gave the green light to the proposed alliance between the Philippine Olympic Committee-backed Pilipinas Basketball and Basketball Association of the Philippines, whose leaders agreed to unite and form a single cage group that will represent the country in the international basketball federation, Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella, concurrent POC first vice-president, said. "It took us one whole day among ourselves (BAP and PB)
and five hours with FIBA to reach this important decision. So let us
not waste it because we are given a chance to move forward," Puentevella
told the DAILY STAR. |
