Pre-MassKara kegfest
kicks off Saturday

The two-day Bago City Bowlers Association-organized "Invitational Trio Derby" Bowling Tournament will unfold Saturday, Aug.26 at the Plaza Arcade Bowling Alley in Bago City.

BACBA president Ricardo Abellar said the six-game series will start with the elimination rounds at 2 p.m., with the top three squads battling for the top prize on Sunday, he added.

At stake for the winners are P8,000 for the champion; P5,000 and P3,000 for the first and second runners-up, respectively.

It will be followed by Cebuana Lhuillier Invitational Trio Derby on Sept.2 and 3 at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfields Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

Hosted by the Negros Professional Bowlers Club headed by Gil Villagante, the tournament offers P26,000 worth of gift certificates for the top three winners.

The champion in the men's division will receive P8,000, while the first and second runners-up will be getting P5,000 and P3,000, respectively.

In the women's bracket, the titlist will bring home P5,000, and P3,000 and P2,000 for the second and third placers.

Meanwhile, the Active Solid Strikers Fellowship Bowlers, Inc. "Pre-Masskara Trio Open Bowling Tournament rolls off Aug.25 at the New Top's Millennium Plaza in Bacolod City.

Edgar Allan del Rosario, ASSFBI president, said the activity is a 10-game tournament where the top four squads will figure in an up-the-ladder system to determine the champion. The No.1 team after the elimination phase have the opportunity to be beaten twice in the men and women's divisions.

Prizes at stake are P7,000 worth of gift certificate for the champion, while the first, second and third runners-up will win P5,000, P3,000, and P1,500 each.*HLG
