'Among my Souvenirs'
marks 25th year

The popular radio program "Among My Souvenirs," hosted by Luis Ledesma, its founder, will mark its Silver Anniversary tomorrow.

To commemorate the occasion, the program will have a marathon broadcast over RJ 100 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a cocktail party to be hosted by Casino Filipino.

Ledesma said he is grateful to his many sponsors, well wishers, friends and the listening public for their continuing support and encouragement that has sustained the radio program for 25 years.

"Who would ever believe that Among My Souvenirs would last this long? It just goes to show that the kind of music that was dished out by Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Doris Day, Frankie Laino, Joni James, Perry Como, Paul Anka, Sammy Davies, Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, Jack Jones and other popular vocalists have been immortalized, not only by the past generation but also by this generation, and, perhaps by future generations," Ledesma said. "Their "music for the soul," has scoped into the very being of all levels of our society. We would like to believe that certain types of music are eternal and will continue to be appreciated by all ages," he added.

Ledesma also said that when they started the program 25 years ago, they placed their faith in the Lord that He will carry them through the years. "He has kept His faith in us as we, too, have kept our faith in Him," he added. Today, Alfredo Lopez, Gigi Star and recently Stella Cua, continue to give the program their support and cooperation that, hopefully, perpetuate the radio program, Ledesma also said.*
