Models of entrepreneurship
Despite the heavy downpour recently the opening and blessing of
the Evangelical Business People and Entrepreneur for Social Transformation
or eBest-Bacolod Chapter's trade exhibit drew a number of friends
and guests at Gaisano City Supermall basement area in Bacolod City.
Participants included the like "Tumandok" of Josephine Locsin,
who started out with a capital of P2,500, but is now into export
business.
For his "Regalos," Nene Alvarez tinkered with old bottles and
transformed then into elegant lamps 20 years ago, before settling
for good in Manila after he retired. Nene is now teaching and sharing
his talent in designing beautiful accessories, landscaping and interior
designing.
Other eBest entrepreneurs are Jojo Vito, now knows for his "Vito
Mask"; Babette Quevenco of "Qithing" who turned a hobby of creating
jewelry pieces into a livelihood; and Elna Williams of "Golden Accent"
who creates furniture pieces from Kamagong, Narra, Molave.
Guests were treated to a delicious merienda and souvenirs of native
keyholders from Nene Alvarez.
REMEMBER: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.*
