Three offices ransacked;
Vice mayor gets threats

BY CARLA P. GOMEZ

Vandals ransacked the offices of the Moises Padilla Sangguniang Bayan, the Vice Mayor, and the Commission on Elections over the weekend and left death threats on the wall of the office of Vice Mayor John Deles.

The damage was discovered yesterday morning. Deles said the culprits entered the office of the COMELEC on the second floor of the old municipal building and took a digital camera, and then entered the SB office where nothing appeared to have been stolen.

However, the culprits cut the wires of computers, a refrigerator, telephones, fax machines, the water dispenser and a tape recorder, tore up documents and left graffiti on the wall in the SB and vice mayor's offices, Deles said.

Deles said written in red letters on the walls of his office was the message "Oras na sang kamatayon mo, handa lang may oras ka guid (It is time for your death, be prepared your time will come)."

Near the door of his office the message was "I'm sorry but my mission", Deles added.

Outside, near a window the message written was "I am back again after three years", Deles also said.

Outside his office, this message was written "P1 million ang bayad sa amon sorry nasugoan and saka this is my mission (We were paid P1 million, sorry we were just told to do what we did and this is my mission)."

On a calendar the date Aug. 20 was circled and the words "It's time to lose you. It's time to kill you. BAMB Boy Gang NPA" were written, Deles said.

However, said he does not believe that it was the work of the NPA.

Senior Inspector Martin Ogatis, Moises Padilla police chief, said they also do not suspect the NPA of being behind the ransacking of the Moises Padilla offices.

He said it could be the work of several teenagers who are members of the BAMB Boys Gang.

It is also possible that they are drug users, he said. The culprits entered the COMELEC office through the roof, went out the front door of the office and entered the adjacent SB office, Ogatis said.

Deles said, aside from the police, the SB will also seek the help of the National Bureau of Investigation in the ransacking case.*CPG
