Blue squad rules
'Aksyon' tourney
BY CHRISTIAN IRL TAN

Broadcaster Fred Salanga scored two straight strikes and a spare in the last three frames Sunday to power Blue-Sincere Drug Store Team in rallying past Red-Teletech Team for the crown in the 3rd Aksyon Radyo Inter-Color Sportsfest at the Lopue's East Bowling Lanes in Bacolod City.

Salanga's impressive performance allowed the Blue keglers to bring home the championship with a 10-point lead after trailing 22 points against the Red bowlers of Elmar Bayan-bayan. Salanga, who is also the squad's skipper, posted 120 points, helping the Blue Team register the highest team single. Arnel Lapore of the Aksyon Legal program had the highest single with 124 points, while SCOOP-Bacolod president Renato "Boy" Duran won the highest single pinning.

Green-Roch Herbal Capsule Team, spearheaded by Charlie Pabular, came in second runner-up, while the Yellow-Kinetics Philippines Team, mentored by Duran, settled for third runner-up. Aksyon Radyo news director Julius Mariveles said roundtrip tickets from Bacolod-Manila and Manila-Bacolod were awarded to Duran and Lapore, while other winners received cash prizes and food stubs.

The tournament is part of Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod's 37th anniversary celebration, Mariveles said. *CIT
