UNO-R, CHB spikers
collide in NOVA event

University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos collides with CHB at 4 p.m. today in men's Class A of the 7th Lopue's Cup Negros Occidental Volleyball Association-University of St. La Salle Volleyball Championships at the USLS College Covered Court in Bacolod City.

Tournament manager Malot Lozada said the Recoletos spikers took the place of defending champion USLS in today's game because the La Sallians have another appointment, while CHB is represented by the team B La Salle players.

In the men's Class B hostilities, NCTV-Silay takes on USLS-Student Nurses Association in the opening match at 9 a.m., before the Stingers' Club clashes with USLS-College 0f Business and Accountancy at 10:45 a.m. Escalante City hopes to bounce back when it battles the Provincial Capitol Employees at 1:30 p.m. in the women's Class B division, while the Sabado Club-Alumni faces NCTV-Silay at 2:45 p.m.

The Escalante volleybelles absorbed an 8-25, 21-25, 25-27 setback against reigning women's B titlist USLS-SNA last week at the start of the month-long tournament.

On Sunday, SNA eyes its second straight win when it faces NCTV-Silay in the women's Class B competitions at 8:30 a.m.

Escalante plays USLS-CBA at 9:15 a.m. in the other women's Class B encounter, before Sabado Club-Alumni aims a victory against the Capitol lady spikers at 10:30 a.m.

In the men's Class B category, PCE meets USLS-Integrated School at 1 p.m., while Lopue's guns for its second consecutive win when it tussles with Smart Communications at 2:15 p.m. *CIT
