Bio-security measures at the farm level are being
strengthened in Negros Occidental in view of the outbreak of the
corona virus in pigs reported in Luzon, Gov. Joseph Maraņon said
yesterday.
An advisory has been issued by Provincial Veterinarian
Renante Decena on stricter security measures at the farm level,
and on enforcement of all quarantine laws, rules and regulations
at all sea and air entry points into Negros Occidental. The advisory
states that the entry of live hogs, meat and by-products from
Luzon into Negros Occidental is barred.
Persons entering Negros Occidental must also be
made to step on the foot baths at ports of entry, and foot baths
should also be provided at farms, Decena said. 


Capitol
sets pre-bidding
for lease of lot
The Bids and Awards Committee of Negros Occidental
has announced that it will hold a pre-bid conference for the lease
of the Capitol lot located along Gatuslao St. in Brgy. 9, Bacolod
City on August 14, 2 p.m., at the Provincial Administration Center.
The area is about 7,000 square meters and the minimum
bid price for lease shall be at P30/sq.m per month.
The opening of bids shall be on August 16, 10 a.m.
at the General Services Office - Disposal Services Section at
the Provincial Administration Center. 


Arroyo
speaks at ABAC
confab in Cebu today
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will deliver the
keynote address tomorrow at the 10th Anniversary Conference of
the APEC Business Advisory Council at the Mactan Shangri-La Hotel
in Cebu, a press release from Malacaņang said.
Arroyo, who attended the ABAC Advisory Meeting
yesterday, will be introduced by Ambassador Roberto Romulo, ABAC
Philippines chair, in the morning event expected to draw some
200 ABAC members and guests. Before her speech, she will receive
in a courtesy call speaker Prof. Jagdish Bhagwati, university
professor for economics and law, and UN Commission on Trade and
Development Secretary General Supachai Panitchpakdi, the press
release said.
