The Task Force Mapalad said in a press statement yesterday that
they are demanding that the Register of Deeds in Bacolod City immediately
restore their certificate of land ownership awards it cancelled
in 2002.
Gregorio Paclibar, president of Hacienda Velez-Malaga Agrarian
Reform Beneficiaries Organization, who held a protest rally at the
ROD office at the Bacolod Hall of Justice yesterday, claimed that
Registrar of Deeds Milagros Moya refused to restore the CLOA despite
an order issued June 29 by the La Carlota City Regional Trial Court
Branch 63.
Moya could not be reached for comment as of press time yesterday.
TFM's Lani Factor said the affected beneficiaries will meet
with Moya today.
Paclibar said the farmers vowed not to stop their protest
action until their CLOAs covering 144 hectares of Hacienda Velez-Malaga
are restored.
TFM said the Department of Agrarian Reform provincial office
had also asked Moya to immediately restore the CLOA.
They said that provincial agrarian reform officer Stephen
Leonidas wrote Moya that the June 29 court order is already final
and executory.
If Moya still refuses to restore their CLOA, they will file
charges against her, Paclibar said.*
