The local services sector posted more than P3.01 billion in investments
from January to June this year, owing mostly to high figures in
trading/retailing enterprises, records of the Department of Trade
and Industry Negros Occidental Provincial Office show.
The sector registered only P1.667 billion during the same
period in 2005.
Based on investments generated from business name registrations,
trading/retailing hit P2.835 billion in first half, compared to
only P786.114 million as of end-June the previous year.
Other businesses in services sector are transportation, communication
and storage, P40.539 million; finance/pawnshop, P27.156 million;
dwelling/real estate, P33.803 million; private professional service,
P66. 155 million; and other related enterprises, P6.687 million.
In January, the sector posted P2.581 billion; February, P74.780
million; March, P79.007 million; April, P34.782 million; May, P93.050
million; and June, P146.766 million.
From January to June this year, the industry sector posted P3.196
billion in investments while the agriculture, fishery and forestry,
