Reasonable prices
urged at Panaad fest
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Negros Occidental Gov. Joseph Maraņon yesterday said he is appealing to those selling food at the ongoing Panaad Festival in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod, to do so at reasonable prices.

Complaints have been aired that food at the Panaad, especially seafoods, have become, in some cases, even more expensive than those sold in Bacolod City.

Visitors to the Panaad said the lure of the eateries at the Panaad will be lost if those running them take advantage by excessively jacking up their prices. The governor said those engaged in selling food at the festival are private entrepreneurs so he can only appeal to them to sell at reasonable prices.

The governor said he noticed that when he ate at the festival site the prices were a little bit steep. We will let the entrepreneurs there know the concern of the people visiting the Panaad, he said.*CPG
