Toledo survives WNC

Cebu Landmaster-Toledo firmed up its hold of the second spot in the Visayas Division after hacking out an 84-75 victory over the visiting West Negros College Mustangs in the ML Kwarta Padala Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association First Conference Sunday night at the Marcelo A. Barba Sports Complex in Toledo City.

The Mustangs got off to a hot start and enjoyed a 31-28 edge off an 11-2 run with halfway mark in the second period, but the Landmasters staged a daring comeback to rip the game apart with a 15-point lead at 73-58 cushion late in the third canto.

The Mustangs kept within striking distance in the closing minutes of the game, but the Landmasters rode on a solid endgame finish to seal the doom of the reigning National Students champion.
