Club launches free
Sunday marathon clinics

BY RENE GENOVE

A one-hour free marathon clinic every Sunday for nine months will be conducted by the Metro Dumaguete Roadrunners Club, Inc., in Dumaguete City.

The activity is open to all interested individuals who want an easy, relaxed and recreational form of physical activity to improve their fitness, Paultom Paras, MDRCI vice president and event coordinator, said.

He said the clinic will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 a.m., on Sundays, except for three weekends. Dr. Aparicio Mequi of Foundation University and pioneer marathon clinic organizer in Quezon City, will lead the clinic with a brief lecture on topics such as training, nutrition, water intake, proper shoes and prevention, and treatment of injuries.

Missionaries conduct
medical-dental mission

A missionary group recently conducted a medical and dental mission Saturday in Barangay Piapi, the third largest barangay in Dumaguete City.

About 200 residents of the barangay availed of free medical and dental check-ups, tooth extraction and circumcision, among others.

A total of 21 male children availed of the free circumcision with free anti-biotics for one week. More would have wanted to avail of the free services but the group ran out of anesthesia.
