BIR to taxpayers:
Beat April 17 deadline

The Bureau of Internal Revenue is reminding taxpayers in Negros that the deadline for the filing and payment of income taxes will be on April 17.

BIR said in a press release that individuals earning compensation income (by individuals not qualified for substitute filing) should file Form 1700; individuals who are self-employed, estates and trusts, including those with both business and compensation income should submit Form 1701; and for annual income tax return for corporations and partnerships, Form 1702.

Taxpayers may opt to pay through cash, check or partial cash/check and debit memo, duly and validly issued by the BIR and may also do it through revenue collection officers in areas with no authorized accredited banks.

Payments are also allowed through the bank debit system whereby a taxpayer, through a bank debit memo/advice, authorizes withdrawals from his/its existing bank accounts for payment of tax liabilities, provided said AAB branch is within the jurisdiction of the RDO where the tax payment is due and payable.

The BIR has also instituted another mode of payment to facilitate the filing and payment of income tax is through electronic filing and payment system, through Mobile E Payment (G Cash) with the use of their Globe cellular phones and the use of the Efficient Service Machine.

Authorized agent banks of the BIR in the region include: Allied Bank, Banco de Oro, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Bank of Commerce, China Bank, Citibank, DBP, Equitable PCI Bank, International Exchange Bank, LBP, Metro Bank, PBCOM, PNB Philtrust Bank, Veterans Bank, Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation, Security Bank, UCPB and Union Bank.

BIR advises early filing to avoid inconvenience and hassle.*
