The Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment
and Natural Resources is now accepting applications for accreditation
from firms engaged in source emission testing services.
DENR said in a press release that companies that provide source
emission testing services to industries will be required to comply
with the Clean Air Act and its implementing rules and regulations
as provided in Administrative Order No. 3.
The accreditation of third party source emission testing seeks
to provide assurance to stakeholders, regulators, and the general
public on the reliability of source emission test results. It ensures
that the accredited firms are fully capable of conducting source
emission tests in accordance with the Clean Air Act, DENR said.
Any applicant who is not disqualified by any existing law
or regulation to engage in the conduct of source emission testing
may apply. Requirements for accreditation include: a duly accomplished
and notarized application form; certified copy of certificate of
business name registration; location map of the firm's office and
premises;
List of personnel involved in the operation of sampling; list
of prescribed equipment needed for the tests; quality assurance
and quality control procedure; calibration and maintenance procedures;
Copies of all field sampling data sheets previously conducted;
procedures for performance of source emission testing; chemical
waste management practices; and, safety and health procedures to
include the list of protective personnel equipment, among others.
Those who wish for more information may call the Air Quality Management
Section of the Environmental Quality Division of the EMB-DENR at
